This is the first worldwide conference to bring together thought leaders, practitioners, employers and policymakers in mapping out a path to achieving widespread computational literacy and advanced computational thinking across the world. After receiving a master's degree in biology from the University of Bayreuth and a PhD degree from the Department of Biocybernetics at the University of Tuebingen, Martina continued as a postdoc at the ARLDN at the University of Arizona and at the Salk Institute in San Diego before coming back to Europe to work at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London and in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London. From there, she started to develop her teaching and lecturing career, in addition to her research on motion and colour vision in insects. She is also continuing research projects with colleagues at the Natural History Museum London, the Natural History Museum Aarus and the University of Alcalá, Madrid.
